Expert-witness training with hours that can be proven

Since 2025, Spain's Civil Procedure Act asks more of a court expert than a degree: they must be an accredited expert in the subject of the report.

A course with real hours, individual assessment and a diploma anyone can check helps support that status before the court and the opposing party.

What the law says

A degree is no longer enough: you have to be an expert in the field

  • LEC, art. 340.1, amended by Organic Law 1/2025. Experts must hold the official qualification matching the subject of the report and be accredited experts in the field.
  • LEC, art. 341.1. Every January, the courts ask professional associations, similar bodies, academies and cultural and scientific institutions for the list of members willing to act as experts.
  • LEC, art. 341.2. Where the expert has no official qualification, the appointment comes from lists requested every year from trade unions, associations and suitable bodies, with at least five people.

How GestCampus covers it

Training the opposing party can't call into question

Real hours, measured

A minimum time per unit, counted only while the course tab is in view, with progress locked until it's met. The certificate states hours that can be proven one by one.

Verifiable diploma

Each diploma carries a code anyone can check on the public website. It shows name, course, hours, date and centre. Nothing more.

Individual assessment

Different questions on every attempt, limited attempts and a pass mark. The pass belongs to the learner, not to an exam that gets passed around.

For professional bodies and associations

The dashboard gives each member's record, with hours, assessments and diplomas, exportable as PDF or CSV.

Frequently asked questions

Does an online course count towards being an accredited expert?

The law doesn't define what accredits an expert: the court weighs it. A course with measured hours, individual assessment and a verifiable diploma is stronger evidence than a certificate of attendance, because anyone can check what was done.

What does someone checking the diploma see?

Name, course, hours, date and issuing centre. Nothing more. Verification is public and exposes no other learner data.

Is it useful for associations that submit expert lists?

Yes. The dashboard gives the association each member's record, with hours, assessments and diplomas, exportable as PDF or CSV.
